CCP Games launched the EVE Creator Awards this year — a new annual tradition tied to Fanfest. I’m going for Written Content Creator of the Year.
Nominations are open until mid-March, the shortlist drops late March, and the actual ceremony (winners revealed) happens 16 May 2026, on the final day of EVE Fanfest 2026 in Harpa, Reykjavik — streamed live on CCP TV.
What you need to do (1 minute)
If you’re willing to support this, here’s how:
- Open the official nomination form: link to the form
- Fill in whatever fields you feel like (you don’t have to do all of them).
- In “Written Content Creator of the Year” put: kekbur.net
- Hit Next
- On the last step, enter your EVE Online character name (I don’t think an EVE Galaxy Conquest name will qualify here, keep reading how to solve this).

Why I’m writing this
Most of you reading this are here for EVE Online and EVE Galaxy Conquest — and from what I’ve learned, a lot of you play both (or at least dipped your toes into EVE Online at some point).
While this site is my broader independent journalist’s lair, let’s be honest — EVE dominates it. No surprise there. I’ve been with this game for over two decades. Over the years that turned into fan fiction, guides, lore breakdowns, interviews, questionable theories, 3D prints, art experiments — all orbiting New Eden in one way or another. So when CCP launches something like the Creator Awards, it’s not just another announcement for me. It touches something I’ve been building for 20+ years — consistently.
The nomination form asks for an EVE Online character name at the end, and it looks like that’s used as a basic “yep, this is a real capsuleer” validation step. So if you’re mainly an EGC player, you’ll probably still need an EVE Online character for the final step.
Now… yes, my YouTube exists, and it has EVE stuff — cinematics, funny edits, interviews. If you want to throw me into Video Creator of the Year, I won’t fight you.
But realistically? I’m a creator dino so Written Content is my zone.
Because there aren’t that many of us left who still prefer the digital version of pen-and-paper journalism over a talking head and a reaction thumbnail. And honestly… that’s exactly why I might have a shot.
Every vote could matter.
What this would mean to me
This site isn’t monetized. No ads or sponsors, It’s a fan-made corner of New Eden, held together by passion, stubbornness, and the fact that some of you keep showing up — reading, commenting, arguing, correcting me, sharing posts with corp mates.
That’s the real fuel.
A nomination — or even just making the shortlist — would be a huge honor. Not because I need a trophy to function, but because it’s a very loud signal that the work is actually needed by someone out there.
And that’s a hell of a motivation to keep going.
If you don’t have an EVE Online character
Two options:
Option A: Create one (EVE is free)
EVE Online is free to try — and unlike EGC, it’s not pay-to-win in the same way. You can absolutely become dangerous without spending a penny, and you can even pay for a subscription with in-game currency.
If you want a head start, you can use my referral link for 1 million free skillpoints.
Option B: Returning player? you can still grab bonus SP
If you played 5–10–20 years ago, you can still claim the bonus. I wrote a short guide for returning players here: how to claim free EVE online goodies retrospectively.
That’s it. Thank you.
If you’ve ever got value from this site — a useful breakdown, a good laugh, a new perspective, or just that feeling of “okay, someone else is as obsessed as I am” — then thank you for taking a minute to nominate.
And if you can: share this post with friends or corp mates.
Let’s see if we can make the magic happen.
Fly safe, o7
