Did you run out of Tier 1 (T1) Essences in Nightingale for gear repairs? Are you looking for a way to farm them? I have good news – you don’t have to! Also, this is going to be the shortest guide for this game.
Steps to Get Tier 1 Essences
Instead of farming for drops, I recommend using the exchange feature called Extraction:
- Open your inventory (default key: I).
- Click on the left side of your backpack to find the Essences tab (third from the top).
- You’ll see all your Essence Tiers. Right-click on Tier 4 or any other essence and select ‘extract’. Fear not, you will have a confirmation window with an ability to select amount.
- In the dialog window, choose the amount of essences you wish to extract (do not exchange all! Keep enough Tier 2 and Tier 3, as they are harder to regain and you’ll need them often).
- Confirm the trade.
Tier 1 Essences Exchange Rates
You can convert any tier of essences into T1, but you can’t convert higher tiers into anything except Tier 1. The conversion rates are as follows:
- x1 Tier 2 = x25 Tier 1
- x1 Tier 3 = x250 Tier 1
- x1 Tier 4 = x2500 Tier 1
Where You Need Tier 1 Essences
There are a few uses for T1 Essences:
- Unlocking progress tree recipes – approximately 1000 T1 essences are needed to unlock everything.
- Some crafting items like realm cards and infusions need T1 essences.
- You’ll use T1 essences for durability repairs throughout the game, including in the endgame.
Final Words
As you can see, the most efficient way to get Tier 1 Essences is by trading Tier 4 Essences, which are easy to farm. If you follow my T4 Beginner’s Guide or T4 Advanced Farming Guide, you can earn up to 1,500 T4 essences per hour. That’s a potential conversion into 3.75 million T1 essences!
