Site Updates & Future Plans for 2025

Hello, dear readers!

A small site updates post. The end of 2024 and the start of 2025 have been a rough ride for me—everything that could go wrong, did. I won’t go too deep into personal or health matters, but the most important thing is: I’m still here, still with you, despite everything.

One “honorable” mention goes to one of my media projects, to which I dedicated 15 years of my life, being abruptly shut down. The entire editorial staff was fired without any compensation—a shocking decision by the new business owners. I won’t name names for now, as I’m still figuring out how to handle it and how to help my ex-colleagues, some of whom are war refugees who lost their only source of income.

Another unpleasant blow hit this site directly. Apparently, Google’s December search update decided to discard my work, almost completely removing me from its index.

Traffic dropped to nearly non-existent levels. After some deep research, I found that millions of small sites and blogs like KekBur.net were hit the same way. Sadly, there’s nothing I can do about it except keep creating content, keep site updates rolling, and hope that one day, this blockade will fall.

On to Better News!

A few weeks ago, following a reader’s request, I launched a Ko-fi campaign for those who wish to support my work financially. This is entirely voluntary—I have no plans to introduce paywalls or locked content, as I strongly believe in accessibility to information for everyone. Any donations will go directly into the site—to cover server costs, services, or content creation.

Back in November, I introduced Eve Galaxy Conquest as a featured game and have since published a hefty number of posts covering various aspects of the game, like:

A few days ago, Season 2 launched, which has kept me busy—not just as a player but also as a writer, updating my existing articles and gathering new insights for you. With this game coverage, I experimented with new content formats like tier lists and rankings. Unlike my usual fact-based journalism, these pieces include personal experience and opinions, which has been a double-edged sword!

Some people loved it, others… not so much. Harsh words were thrown around on Discord, but thankfully, every “thanks” I receive from supportive readers outweighs ten unconstructive comments. Your encouragement keeps me going and pushes me to improve.

I will continue supporting Eve Galaxy Conquest, as I still have a lot left to share.

What’s Coming Next?

In Q1 2025, I want to publish more content about Eve Online, as there are many exciting developments worth covering. Right now, I’m finalizing my “Epic Saga”, a long story about my trip to Iceland, alongside video footage from the last EVE Fanfest. With the next Fanfest just around the corner, I think it’s the perfect time to revisit those memories.

I’m also trying to convince my wife to join as a second author on the blog. As a girl-gamer, she has a unique perspective on many aspects of gaming worth sharing. In fact, she was the one who pulled me into Baldur’s Gate 3, Mass Effect, and even World of Warcraft!

WinterCon IX – A Cosplay Raid Incoming!

Tomorrow, I plan to attend WinterCon IX, the Baltic’s own Comic-Con—a festival celebrating geek culture, cosplay, anime, comics, K-pop dance, gaming, tabletop games, and more. A few months ago, I covered a similar event organized by the same team, UniCon, and I’m looking forward to experiencing this one. I’ll be there with my older daughter and her friends, and I hope it’ll be a fantastic experience for us. Stay tuned for the coverage!

That’s it for now—time to polish my lenses and charge my camera flashes for tomorrow’s cosplay raid!
